Glimpse American McGee?s New Horrors in The Art of Alice: Madness Returns

Those awaiting the sequel to American McGee?s Alice can get a peek at the upcoming videogame?s impending horrors in a new art book.

The Art of Alice: Madness Returns primes the pump for McGee?s foreboding videogame Alice: Madness Returns, which arrives June 14. The visually arresting hardcover, released April 27, has already been scheduled for a second printing in July.

Judging by the uncanny imagery in Wired.com?s preview gallery above, Alice: Madness Returns is looking to merge the insanity of 2000 third-person game American McGee?s Alice with the immersive gameplay of Bioshock.

?We?re trying to go for a much more psychological, deep, disturbing horror,? McGee told Wired.com last year. ?In the instance of BioShock, you?re turning something on its head for the key purpose of, ?Oh my God, I can?t believe this whole time I?ve been in this thing and this thing has been talking to me.??

Take a peek through Wired.com?s gallery above and let us know in the comments section below how you feel about this particularly scary take on Lewis Carroll?s classic Alice?s Adventures in Wonderland.
