Former player, assistant coach reflect on Gus Malzahn's first days in the hurry-up, no-huddle offense (video)

SPRINGDALE, Arkansas -- No one knew what hit them when Gus Malzahn unveiled his hurry-up, no-huddle offense at Shiloh Christian in 1997.

No one in the state of Arkansas was utilizing a similar system at the time, and what resulted was a quick rise through the ranks and the school's first state championship in 1998.

You can read more about Malzahn's days at Shiloh Christian, where his offense caught fire, in the third part of our series on Malzahn's journey to Auburn.

Attached to this post you will find video interviews with Malzahn's former quarterback at Shiloh Christian (Josh Floyd) and his offensive coordinator (Chris Wood), who provide some rarely-heard insight on the early days of the hurry-up, no-huddle offense that would later propel three teams to state titles and Malzahn into the college coaching ranks.

Malzahn's creativity also inspired others inside and outside the state.
