Olympic Games in Beijing is a historic moment

The Beijing Olympics take place August 8 to 24, 2008 in Beijing, China. During this time, there is the Olympic sport list the 28 summer sports. There are also around 10,500 athletes are expected to participate in the Games with around 20,000 accredited media bringing the Games to the world.

There are 302 different events in these 28 disciplines. 2008 Olympics in Beijing will be the third time that Olympic events were held in the territories of two different National Olympic Committees to highlight. An event will be held in Hong Kong

Athletes from Hong Kong, but under the flag of Hong Kong, althoughHong Kong is not an independent state.

The inauguration took place on 8 August 2008, participating in all but one (Brunei) of the current 205 National Olympic Committees. China and the United States is the largest team with 639 participants and 596 in that order. Many countries are represented by a single athlete games.

Of 195 independent states, has only three non-participating Brunei, Kosovo and the Vatican City. Three other countries have for their participationFor the first time in history: the Marshall Islands, Montenegro and Tuvalu.
