Info. Technology - Regional - Brazil, Mexico produce "spectacular" results for Dell

Dell's results in Brazil and Mexico have been "spectacular" in what has so far been a good year for the company in Latin America as a whole, the firm's regional VP Diego Majdalani told BNamericas, without giving hard figures.

The year has been positive for Dell both in terms of sales and the quality of dialogues which it is having with customers in the region, the executive added.

The company is focused on providing end-to-end solutions for large corporations, SMEs and consumers, each with different needs.

For large companies in the region, continuing to increase the level of virtualization is a key issue, along with data center management and the integration of IT solutions, Majdalani said.

He added that, over recent years, the small business segment has begun to require specific IT solutions for its needs which are different to those of both consumers and medium-sized businesses, despite traditionally having needs more in line with the consumer segment, he added.

The small business segment is growing particularly strongly in Latin America, along with the medium-sized business segment.

On a worldwide level, Latin America is an "outstanding area" for Dell, according to Majdalani.

The company saw global revenues decline 8.3% in its fiscal 2013 ended in February driven by falling sales across the large enterprise, SME and consumer segments.
