Dominican Republic
The favorite in World Baseball Classic odds at the online sportsbook to win Pool C and one of the main contenders to win the World Baseball Classic title is the Dominican Republic. They have a roster loaded with many MLB players including Adrian Beltre, Robinson Cano, Jose Reyes and Fernando Rodney. The concern for this team may be the rotation as they have to hope that Edison Volquez and Wandy Rodriguez are up to the task,
Venezuela
The second choice in Pool C is Venezuela and you can make a case that they should be favored in this group. They have a powerful lineup led by reigning MVP Miguel Cabrera and an outfield of Carlos Gonzalez, Martin Prado and Geraldo Parra. The advantage that the Venezuela team has over the Dominican Republic is their starting staff as they have Anibal Sanchez and Carlos Zambrano at the top of their rotation. It would have been a dominating rotation if Felix Hernandez was on the team but his contract negotiations dragged out and he probably won?t pitch in the tournament.
Puerto Rico
It is too bad that Puerto Rico is stuck in Pool C because they have a very good team that could win some of the other pools. If either the Dominican team of the Venezuela team slips up then Puerto Rico could advance to the next round. They have a very good outfield of Alex Rios, Angel Pagan and Carlos Beltran.
Spain
The longshot in Pool C with no real chance to be competitive is Spain. They have no players of note and no shot to even make it out of Pool C.
