Sony Open 2013 leaderboard: Scott Langley, Russell Henley continue strong play

Scott Langley and Russell Henley are each second-year professionals trying to make a big splash, and they're on top of the leaderboard at the beginning of the second day of the Sony Open in Hawaii.

Youngsters Scott Langley and Russell Henley have tacked onto their lead, both 1-under in the early going in the second round of the Sony Open in Hawaii.

Langley started off the day at 8-under in first place Langley at 7-under in second. Both birdied their first hole of the day and are one stroke under par through six holes. Stephen Ames has already cut two strokes off his score to get to 7-under, good for third place.

Of the notables in action so far, Webb Simpson is 1-under to put himself in a tie for eighth place at 5-under, while Vijay Singh and John Daly are both at 3-under, still even on the day.

Langley and Henley both turned professional in 2011, with Langley graduating from Illinois and Henley from Georgia, and neither has experienced any major success in the PGA. Henley won some Web.Com tour events, and the pair tied for low amateur at the 2010 US Open, but if either would be able to keep up their hot play, it would be a career achievement.
