RolePlayGateway?

All right so I?ve been trying to start a Cyberpunk one on one for a while now and after listening to some Iron Savior and assorted music I?ve sorted out something of a deeper plot. If any port of the Idea interests anyone just shoot me a Pm and we can run from there.

First off I'll explain how I write and what kind of partner I'm looking for. I Enjoy writing and tend to draw out posts to four or five paragraphs as a minimum, yet I have a slight tendency to botch up my spelling and grammar. No doubt this interest check is dotted with mistakes. It happens and I'm not all that concerned by it. I?m just desperate for some Rp?s at the moment. I?m constantly trying to improve my writing, So I?m looking for a partner who?ll give me something to work with in every post, someone who?ll keep the story going , if not turn it on it?s heels every now and again. I need a partner who?ll share ideas and thoughts, my past partners have always had unique ideas that I would never have thought of. Ideas that have usually made the story more interesting, if not flat our better.

I?m also big on a sense of realism, obviously with Cyberpunk there?s going to be a lapse in technological realities. But that?s not what I mean by realism. I?m more interested in worlds and stories that make a person think, ?You know that Could happen.? Because of this none of my Rp's are themed beyond the lives of the characters, I like to create the plot as the story progresses not per-determine it all. Now the plot is a little rough and needs some polish but I'd like to do that once I've found a partner.

An Iron Savior and a Cybernetic Queen.

Now my idea is to set the Rp in 2070, the age when cybernetics? are just starting to become a truly viable option for humanity. Part of my idea is that North America suffered a sort of Dark Age from 2043-2060, called simply the Crash. The reason for this was some kind of unregulated obsession with virtual reality, and ?Better than Life? Systems. I?ll explain my idea of this more in depth if I can hopefully get some interest.

Anyways coming out of the Crash humanity is willing to see progress and move foreword, but people are still scared of what technology can do. Cybernetics are one of those things that are leaving people worried. The open minded scientist and free thinkers are willing to push this new creation to its limits but most of the common throng is less then willing to see what it can do.

Anyways the Rp would involve two characters that underwent this cybernetic modification for forced reasons. My own character the ?Iron Savior? is a pilot who suffered from a terrible crash, which cost him, his left arm, eye, ear; it also left him with a severally punctured lung and other severe injuries. In response he underwent emergency cybernetic surgery, replacing his arm, eye, inner ear, and left lung. Now since his surgery he?s been unable to land a job with anyone, most say that his ?Iron? cybernetics can?t be trusted to work behind the stick of any aircraft. Followed in suite of that is the loss of his home, as bills stack up all around him with no good way to pay them. Forcing him to move out onto the streets, where he takes on whatever job?s he can. Now he?s a low level crook and a hired gun for low time crime bosses.

The ?Cybernetic Queen? Is a woman who, for whatever reason had to undergo her own cybernetic modifications. However part of my idea for her is that she has much less obvious modifications. Or at least that they?ve been hidden under a layer of fake skin. Anyways, my idea is that she is also subject to this sort of anti-cybernetic attitude and forced into some underpaying and embarrassing job for whatever skills she once held. Honestly the first idea that I came up with was that she was a Call girl for men with a fetish, but I won?t force anyone to play that character.

Now my idea is that these two would meet and realize that they may be the only two with cybernetics in the entire city. Or at least the only two that lack enough power or money to get by on their own. So they decide that having at least one friend, even if they?re both down on their luck, would be better then none. Of course they don?t have to get along, and it sounds like grounds for a budding romance story, but that?s not required. Maybe they end up hating each other and stick together only out of mutual respect. My character is a former soldier, which is where he learned to fly, and perhaps someone decides to make the Cybernetic Queen some kind of pacifist, which I sort of doubt. They won?t likely always get along, but they?ll stay together.

From here my thought is that something would happen in the city that sets people off, my idea is that there?s an attack against the major Cybernetic development lab, and local police fire on a crowd of ?Real people? defending the ?Cyborgs? essentially setting off a massive civil uprising against anything cybernetic.Where it goes from there, I haven?t a clue, it?s just one idea and it can do with some tweaking I know, but I wanted to put up an actual plot in hopes that it would draw in some interest.

I?ll admit that this Rp would no doubt be mature in content, so if that?s not you cup of tea don?t ask me if this idea can be tweaked to be anything else, this plot will get mature at times, at least in certain aspects, a simple fad to black will suffice in certain situations. Violence, gore, language and the like will be present even despite the fade to black, and a good degree of this rp will take place in a society that thinks Cybernetic augmented people aren?t people at all, and are in fact of sending the world back into another Crash, or worse. So It should take a look at those sociological and psychological aspects as well. This story will look at the Human condition when it's at it's best and its worst, or at least that's my hope, where the Iron Savior and the Cybernetic Queen end up I haven't a clue, I'm not even sure if they'll both make it out alive, but I do know humanity will be turned on it's head.
