Black Keys Say 'There Are No Plans' To Release Blakroc 2
Trailer for new project hit the Net earlier this month 'without our permission,' Keys drummer says.

Late last month, a rather badass (and blunt-filled) trailer for Blakroc 2, the sequel to 2009's Black Keys/ Damon Dash hip-hop project, began making the rounds on the Net.
First posted on the website of Dash's DD172 collective, the crackling clip featured the Keys and rappers like Talib Kweli, Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y getting loose in the studio, and though no release date was given for the album, the video concluded with the promise that new music would be "Coming Soon."
Of course, that was news to the Black Keys. Because in an interview at this past weekend's Music Midtown festival in Atlanta, drummer Patrick Carney let it be known that folks would be waiting a long time to hear any new Blakroc tracks — at least if his band has anything to do with it.
"Blakroc 2 is not coming out soon. ... Somehow, there was a trailer that was made — like, two years ago — without our permission [that] was then re-circulated again without our permission," he told Atlanta's 92.9 FM. "I mean, we have stuff recorded for it, we have about eight songs that are, I guess, done, but those were all recorded, like, two years ago, like around October of 2009. So Blakroc 2 ... there are no plans for that to be released as an album."
So what will become of the project? No one seems to know for sure. A spokesperson for the Black Keys was not available, and Damon Dash had no comment on the matter.
In the meantime, Carney said fans shouldn't despair — mostly because the Keys are putting the finishing touches on their new album, which finds them reteaming with producer Danger Mouse. And, by the sound of things, it'll be out way before Blakroc 2.
"I can just say that it's coming out soon, and we think it's really good," Carney said. "[If fans were excited for Blakroc], then they can just be excited for the new Black Keys one, because that's the only one that actually exists."

Al-Jazeera reporter released from Israeli prison (AP)
JERUSALEM ? An Al-Jazeera journalist imprisoned by Israel was released under a plea bargain Monday, after he acknowledged having contact with the Islamic militant group Hamas, his attorney said.
According to the Israeli military verdict, Samer Allawi said he attended two meetings "in or near Qatar" in 2006 and 2010 with Al- Jazeera colleagues allegedly active in Hamas and later met senior Hamas member Osama Hamdan at a press conference.
The prosecutor alleged that on both occasions Allawi agreed to help strengthen public support for Hamas by reporting stories that would positively portray the Palestinians, but that he did not act on that due to "inability or unwillingness.".
Salim Wakim, the journalist's attorney, said his client was sentenced with "very, very, very trivial crimes."
His lawyer said Allawi refused the requests by Hamas. The military prosecutor also said that Allawi never carried out the requests, saying instead that he acted unethically.
The military prosecutor found Allawi guilty of making contact with and offering services to the Islamic militant group Hamas, considered a terrorist organization by Israel and several Western nations.
Allawi was released after paying a $1,400 fine, said Wakim.
Allawi, Al-Jazeera's bureau chief in Afghanistan, was arrested in August by Israeli soldiers when he was on his way back to Kabul after visiting family in the West Bank. He was held in an Israeli military prison for over a month.
Video footage on Al-Jazeera Arabic showed Allawi on Monday kissing his mother's hand and forehead repeatedly and hugging another woman upon his release. He was tearful.
Walid Al-Omary, Al-Jazeera's bureau chief in Jerusalem, criticized Israel's arrest of Allawi.
"He's a journalist. He meets with Hamas just like any other journalist," Al-Omary said.

"Depression can make people more inattentive to potential risks to their health and more likely to ignore recommendations to reduce their risk," said study researcher Amelie G. Ramirez, professor and director of the Institute for Health Promotion Research at the Cancer Therapy and Research Center at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
Ramirez and colleagues wanted to understand how problems like depression, which is more common among breast cancer patients than the general population, might affect cancer screening. Ten percent of new cancers appear in people who have already had the disease.
The researchers surveyed 117 Hispanic breast cancer survivors and screened them for depression. About one-third met the criteria for depression. Only five women had been screened for both cancers; about 60 percent hadn't been checked for one or the other cancer.
The research linked depression to a lower rate of ovarian cancer screening, but there was no link between depression and less colorectal cancer screening. Other factors affecting ovarian cancer screening included a lack of English language skills, high costs of health care, unemployment and lack of relatives with cancer. Being single boosted the risk that the women didn't get screened for colorectal cancer.
"Regardless of depression . . . we need to work with these women to help them understand that they need to get more involved with their health care," Ramirez said in a news release from the American Association for Cancer Research. "We also have to get a better handle on the underpinnings of depression among cancer survivors. We have to ask the critical questions to make sure that these patients are not only getting the follow-up treatment they need, but also are screening for depression."
The study findings were released Monday at the American Association for Cancer Research Conference on the Science of Cancer Health Disparities, in Washington D.C.
Research presented at meetings should be considered preliminary until published in a peer-reviewed medical journal.

FACT CHECK: GOP candidates overreach on Israel (AP)
NEW YORK ? The Palestinian bid to win U.N. recognition is focusing attention on the Obama administration's Mideast policy, which Republican presidential candidates say is all wrong.
Presenting themselves as stronger advocates for Israel, leading GOP hopefuls are turning the Middle East peace process into a foreign policy campaign issue in a political season so far dominated by unemployment, taxes and the stagnant U.S. economy.
Yet as the administration fights fiercely on behalf of Israel this week, pressing the Palestinians to abandon their quest for statehood, some of the Republican claims have strayed well beyond reality.
The diplomatic tussling ahead of a possible United Nations vote comes after the recent GOP win in a special New York congressional election, which suggested some problems ahead for Obama with traditionally Democratic-leaning Jewish voters.
A look at some of the statements by the candidates and how they compare with the facts:

MITT ROMNEY: "President Obama has thrown Israel under the bus."
THE FACTS: This statement, delivered with regularity since Obama's May speech outlining his vision of a two-state solution, comes at an odd moment.
The Obama administration is working feverishly against the Palestinians' U.N. statehood bid, lobbying world governments to vote down the plan. It is cajoling Turkey to repair ties with the Jewish state. It recently helped de-escalate tensions after Egyptian protesters stormed the Israeli Embassy in Cairo, winning praise from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government. And it has made sure that Egypt's new authorities honor all existing peace agreements with Israel.
This week's very public American campaigning on behalf of Israel has strengthened relations between the countries. And with Israel feeling increasingly isolated among its neighbors, Obama officials have taken on the mantle of doing its diplomatic bidding. There may be some Israeli officials who feel Obama has promised too much to the Palestinians or pushed too quickly, but few if any who feel right now that he has abandoned the Jewish state.

RICK PERRY: "Errors by the Obama administration have encouraged the Palestinians to take backward steps away from peace. It was a mistake to call for an Israeli construction freeze, including in Jerusalem, as an unprecedented precondition for talks."
THE FACTS: This is a one-sided and parochial assessment of the impasse. U.S. officials and mediators from other countries have blamed both sides for failing to advance the peace process. Europeans and others aren't blaming the U.S. for the difficulty.
The U.S. government long has considered Israeli housing construction in lands it conquered in 1967 ? lands the Palestinians want to include in their future state ? as illegitimate. Yet despite being disappointed by resumed Israeli settlement expansion, the Obama administration vetoed a U.N. resolution condemning the Jewish state. And it has continuously pressed for direct Israeli-Palestinian peace talks, despite not securing any Israeli commitment to reverse policy.

MICHELLE BACHMANN: "Obama called upon Israel to retreat to its indefensible 1967 borders."
THE FACTS: Obama's vision for a two-state solution foresees the Israelis and Palestinians agreeing on a new border, so they would draw the map themselves.
Bachmann and other critics of the president have ignored his reference to "mutually agreed swaps" of land, meaning that Israel's pre-1967 borders would serve only as a starting point and that the two sides would have to define the boundary themselves. Obama himself has said the 1967 line is indefensible and would constitute an unrealistic aspiration for Palestinians.
Obama's vision, long a privately articulated part of American foreign policy, has been endorsed by the other major Middle East peace mediators ? the European Union, United Nations and Russia. More importantly, it's backed by the majority of Palestinian and Israeli leaders.

PERRY: "The Obama policy of moral equivalency, which gives equal standing to the grievances of Israelis and Palestinians, including the orchestrators of terrorism, is a very dangerous insult."
THE FACTS: The administration has never said nor suggested that settlement construction in the West Bank and east Jerusalem, or any other Israeli policy, is equally as heinous as Hamas rockets or other attacks aimed at Israeli citizens.
However, Obama officials have tried to give public weight to the grievances of each side, without offering either as a moral justification for harmful deeds.
For Israelis, the administration says it understands the difficulty of living without security and in a hostile neighborhood. And it cites the ordeal of Palestinians living under occupation, with difficult economic prospects and without control over their own lives.
The effort at empathy does not extend to terrorists. Obama has maintained the unconditional blacklisting of Hamas in the Gaza Strip and Hezbollah in Lebanon as terrorist organizations and backed Israel's right to target extremists bent on threatening its security.

US picked to host 2015 cycling world championships
The road cycling world championships are returning to the United States for first time in nearly 30 years.
The UCI, cycling's international governing body, selected Richmond, Va., to host the event in 2015 on Wednesday in Copenhagen, Denmark. Oman had been in the running for the event before removing its candidacy earlier in the day.
The U.S. last hosted the worlds in 1986 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
"The road world championships haven't been held on American soil in my lifetime," said 21-year-old Taylor Phinney, a former individual pursuit and under-23 world time trial champion. "It will certainly give me and the entire new generation of American cycling something to aspire to."
The 2015 championships are scheduled for Sept. 19-27 and will feature elite men and women, under-23 men, and junior men and women. Events include traditional road races, individual time trials and a new team time trial that will feature the world's top professional teams.
"The reality is it's so wonderful for these young Americans that are international talents to play their trade in front of hometown crowds, which they don't get to do that often," USA Cycling president and CEO Steve Johnson said in a phone interview with The Associated Press.
Along with Phinney, 22-year-olds Andrew Talansky and Ben King form the core of a youth movement the likes of which American cycling hasn't experienced in years. Phinney finished 15th and Talansky 16th during Wednesday's individual time trial at the world championships in Denmark, while King was last year's U.S. road race champion.
Their success has been difficult to follow outside cycling-centric circles, though, in large part because the biggest, most prestigious events are held abroad. But Johnson said that's beginning to change with the Tour of California, the USA Pro Cycling Challenge in Colorado, and more domestic television coverage of the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a Espana.
"The sport has become more and more relevant," Johnson said. "We saw from the numbers record viewership from the Tour de France without a single American star like we've had the past few years. It's relevant and people are interested in the sport in general like we haven't seen before."
More than 1,000 athletes representing more than 70 nations will compete on the historic cobblestone streets and wide boulevards that make up Richmond at the world championships, riding for the right to wear the rainbow jersey awarded to event winners.
USA Cycling expects more than half a million people to watch in person in the capital of the Commonwealth of Virginia, along with a global television audience of more than 300 million.
"Richmond is thrilled to be selected to host the 2015 road world cycling championships, joining a list of great cities like Madrid, Florence and Copenhagen," Richmond Mayor Dwight C. Jones said in a statement Wednesday. "Hosting the world championships will help bring Richmond one step closer to being one of the world's great bicycling cities."
Richmond has a long history of hosting elite cycling events.
In the late 1980s and early '90s, the city hosted the Tours de Trump and Tours DuPont that featured stars such as Greg LeMond, Lance Armstrong and Phinney's father, Davis Phinney.
Armstrong won the last two Tours DuPont, in 1995 and '96.
"It's rewarding to be able to not only bring the road worlds back to the U.S., but to bring them to Richmond," said Mike Plant, a member of the UCI management committee. "Richmond stepped up and proved they could support world-class cycling when we brought the Tour de Trump and Tour DuPont to the city in the late '80s and early '90s."
Like this year's edition of the world championships, which are serving as a key benchmark for American cyclists preparing for the 2012 London Olympics, the 2015 worlds will serve as preparation for those aiming for the 2016 Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro.
"Securing the 2015 world championships is the result of tremendous collaboration between civic and business leaders and strategic partners," said Tim Miller, the leader of Richmond 2015, the nonprofit corporation that will be responsible for organizing, promoting and managing the event.
''As we now enter the next phase, we look forward to expanding these partnerships to ensure that the 2015 World Championships set a new standard of excellence," he said.

Cellular memory (as the name implies) is basically the memory that resides inside the cells within the body. That?s right; every single one of the cells in your body actually has a memory of its own.
Each of the cells within the body actually stores reserves of information related to past experiences (both positive and negative) within their memory.
This is often the reason why someone who beats cancer will experience a relapse. The same is true of those who suffer from addiction or any other type of disease.
What?s really occurring is a relapse of memory within the cell that is causing the body to react in a certain way.
This truth applies to every aspect of your life in both the physical and metaphysical world; meaning it can affect your body directly in the form of sickness or disease as well as metaphysically through things you attract like relationships or wealth.

This is often why we see people who seem to "have it all" like Hollywood celebrities for example are constantly ruining their lives through the use of drugs, alcohol or anything else that they feel will mask the pain represented by the imbalance.
Haven?t you ever come across a person who in your mind has everything anyone could ever ask for ? but feels unfulfilled or as though they are a failure?
Most of the time we see people like this and can?t understand how they could feel like failures with what they have achieved in life ? be it fame, fortune, stardom, wealth, etc.
And the truth is that no matter how hard you try, you will never understand how they feel; just as the majority of people out there can?t relate to how you feel because the cellular memory for each of us is drastically different.

If you would like to be considered for this PPC account review, please send an email to info (at) dfwsem.org with the URL of the site that you are using in your current PPC efforts (we will NOT need your account login information).
As is the case when DFWSEM does site reviews, the PPC account reviews will not be a collective ?beat down? of the examples, but a way to find out what the audience is doing right and what someone might want to consider doing differently in order to deliver the best results for clients.
Whether a PPC newbie or AdWords certified, folks will leave this meeting with a greater understanding of how to successfully create and manage highly effective PPC campaigns.
