Sum 41: Makes No Difference

Chances are you're still tired of hearing Fat Lip from way back in the early 2000s, but don't let that ruin Sum 41 for you. Their best song came before all that. Those of you who were into Dave Mirra's Pro BMX 2 may know where I am going with this, but the rest of you are in for a treat.

The first single off the band's 2000 debut full-length album Half Hour of Power (and in general) "Makes No Difference" is?to my mind?one of the bestestest examples of pure, light-hearted, pop-punk bliss. With pitch perfect harmonies, the hookiest guitar hook that ever hooked, and lyrics that quite literally make no difference, this tune is the picture of painfully perfect fluff. Empty calories for your ears.

Oh, and the video is stupid, but of course it is. And it should be. So kick back with three minutes of dumb fun. And be damn glad you don't have to go to high school parties any more. Unless you do. In which case shame on you. [Spotify, Amazon, iTunes]
